Favourite foreign onomatopoeia - 5

Eichhörnchen - German, squirrel ([actually derives from 'oak' (and 'acorn'?), but] tell me that's not also the noise they make!)

  1. Eichhörnchen comes from Eich (oak) and horn (horn). The "chen" is a diminuative ending making it a "little horned oak" critter.
